This is a bit negative :-) Only the professor seems to know where he is talking about. The reporter Rob Bartol hasn't got a clue [8D] It's a very confusing report! I really think he doesn't speak English at all. He is telling in that he could not get in touch with. Well we had a mail conversation and I nicely told him that I dis not want to cooperate with him. Check also my weblog (dutch) for my comment on this

He really does not get it! from my point of view it's just filling up the program as quickly as he can. And yes he does not speak English very good :-)

Jan Toor

There are about 5 billion Hyves profiles.
If we are talking about personal information......you will find there more then on Bwired.

Its easier to extract information about location / house of a person via hyves etc, then via bwired. Although you see alot you dont see any address information (unless you know where to look ofcourse)

It amazes me how pathetic these reports, covering Bwired, are... I haven't seen the video yet, just reading the article on OB and the resulting comments was enough... Everybody is reporting this as being some sort of new 'Big Brother' and this while the site has been around for years and reports nothing really that interesting privacy-wise. It's not like Pieter has live webcams where we can see what he's doing all day long. (seeing what the ducks are doing in the lake doesn't qualify [:o)])

Like Chak & Snelvuur said, you'll find a lot more personal stuff on hyves, including photos of someone's drunken mug, that I'm sure a future employer will enjoy [;)]

I have nothing but contempt for such uninformed sewer-journalism.. (actually, I wouldn't even call it journalism)

*Little update: Well I just saw the video... -> 'hihi'
That's all I have to say Pieter, especially having read your blog aswell [:D]

Apart from the 50 times the guy said "Biwairut" - I couldn't understand a thing! :)

But it sure looked like the "reporter" was concerned about privacy... pfff... but if he ever gets something stolen, I'm sure he'd appreciate having a camera covering it to see what happened.

(And probably these are the same people that then go on and watch those "big brother" reality shows...)

What about that recorded statement they were repeating over and over again? Is that Pieter's answering machine?
Also, did they ask for permission to do this report? Or are they invading your privacy as well? ;)

Thanks Guy's
Other agency's are picking up the new as well, today there was a good article in a Dutch newspaper.
here the Internet version (Dutch) http://www.brabantsdagblad.nl/brabant/2 ... rother.ece
And VTM from Belgium called as well they do understand the concept of Domotica Home Automation.
I guess Rob Bartol could not read the English text above my Internet Answering machine, so who can blame hime :-)

NOS Jeugdjournaal has placed an update on Bwired with the real story. So they are making up for not really doing a job in the first place!

I will never stop domotics !!!!!!!!
I won't put anything on the web they don't like, thats without a doubt!
But hey..... they are growing up with Hyves, Twitter, YouTube and our nice Dutch programs on television.
A camera? A sensor? Who gives a hack!

Biwairut :-), i didn't know your site was that famous.
I work for a company who installs domotics, but most of all this are domotics for old people or people with an handicap.
A few years ago, at the 'child-years' of domotics, we've contacted 'omroep brabant' and the wouldn't spent some time on the subject.
But now, at least, in 2008, they're into domotics..... unfortunatly not very positive.
Bwired, i like your site and i hope i can build something like your site in a few years, in that case there is anonther domotics-house rising in Eindhoven, the homecity of 'omroep brabant'
Bwired.........go on man!!!!

...."Rob Bartel, reporter at <b>Omroep Brabant</b>"....

He could work for SBS6 or Peter R de Vries with his twisting-the-truth & reporting capabilities

Don't let him influence you and keep up the good work!
