Today I have installed my first PlugWise Network

Concept of zigbee network was new for me.
Installation was done in 15 min.
Speed en response of the network is good.

Controlling and monitoring is done via the plugwise software called PlugWise Source.
There is no web interface or any remote possibilities for controlling.
You have to do that via the application running on Windows machine.

Only missing thing at the moment is the plugin for Homeseer so that I can control every thing directly from my Pronto/PDA/N800 etc..

Can you tell anything about the program. display the direcory listing, how is the data stored.
It would be good for Plugwise to open up the interface protocol (tech manual) so drivers can be built voor Homeseer and other HA programs.

I hope to also become a part of the club that will get the chance to test the Plugwise system, particularly since i've just recently began to monitor Electricity usage, this topic is very interesting to me right now.

When I compare there prices with Am12 different is not that big
They can switch 16 A (3680watt)
The click is very acceptable..I little bit louder than TM13

I need the Homeseer Plugin...

Thats what I thought, I hope the application is not a MS-Acces application. If so they still have some work to do on the software. You can use the MDB for local storage. Are there forms (formulieren as well?)

Collection of power usage will be done even if the server application is not running.

When the application is started i will collect all the data. After that you can see what the usage per hour was.

Ok thats good, using an MDB for local storage is ok.

Not that good at hardcore programming but I someone might be able to use an USB scanner to see what is being send to the USB stick (reverse engineering the code required to control the lights).

I will replace *ALL* of my AM12's as soon as we get the option to control these through an interface like HS2 (or anything with custom code). If it integrates with HS2 I can use my X10 remote controls / motion sensors and Visonic motion sensors to control the Plugwise devices. That would be awesome..

We all know that (ZigBee) could very well be _the_ protocol of the future, we only miss the easy integration with other apps. Plugwise might have to update their website with a lot more details / caveats regarding max power supported, noise generated by these modules etc.etc.

Just reading on the plugwise website "Vanuit de software of PDA kan de plug opdrachten tot schakelen ontvangen". How could you use a PDA to control the lights? Or have they a Windows Mobile / Windows CE version of their PC app?

At the moment there is no PDA application
Only control is via PC or the build in scheduler.
They are working on a XML interface for communication with other application's
