Hi all,

I see that I'm not the only newbie here.
I did read a lot on this forum, but I'm still not sure what 'domotica' to get.

Basically I'm doing a complete makeover / redo of my new house (all walls are striped at the moment, all rooms (and I mean all rooms) have network lines (over 300 meters), TV, and phone connections. (builders will still be in the house for an other month and a half)

I've only started reading about all the nice controllable units some days ago, and at the moment I'm lost in the info, and bookmarks that I've got :/

Anyway.. The house is located in a "city heating" area, so I do not have a "boiler" of my own. I would love be able to monitor the heating.

Besides this I will also be running my own "test" server (Linux) at the house connected to a glas fiber line
Running an extra Windows server (for software) will not be a problem.
It would be great if I could controll some 'domotica' units (lights) from the WAN.

Anyone here who can give me some nice info on what type of 'Domotica' I should start off with?
My budget (for now) is 1000 euro's

Location of the 'project' is the Netherlands (Almere)

wait a bit for the new xanura models, and go for that. There are new models coming out which you could benefit form straight away. But i would start experimenting with stuff, only your budget is a bit low if you want to do the complete house. (at least i dont think your gonna make it, its like a gf. You put money in it and it just vanishes in thin air)

Thank you for the info.
I know 1000 euro's is not a big budget, but I for now it will get me going.
I was also thinking about Xanura. I did not know about the new versions. Do you maybe know when?
Anyway. Xanura does have a dealer in Almere, so sometime this week I will have a look in the shop.
