Smell control

Post by Henk »

There are two electronic parfum/odor dispenser on the Dutch market (check your local Blokker store)

Toilet spray controller Airwick - it will spray with selectable intervals of 9 - 18 - 36 minutes.... so for domotica freaks just take over your own control ....it is easy to open the dispenser - screws !! - so shortcut the manual push button and switch on the battery power by a relais. Set it on one of the three time options - So making contact it will submit one little puff ..

Room smell controller Air Wick ... it has two containers with different smells it will switch every 75 minutes. There are two leds indicating which container is selected . With the manual switch you can get an extra boost ..... so again time for hacking ... drill the plastic "nuts" away ... glue it back together .... two heating resistors will take care of the vaporizing process .... it seems to be controlled by two transistors ... so bypass those transistors with a relais - you may include the leds by another relais contact - just isolated the leds - be aware the whole circuit is connected to the 230V !!

For electronic wizards may be other smarter hacking possibilities - just let us know

good smelling

Now we just need an odor sensor to tell us when it's time to dispense the anti-agent! :)

Smell control

i know when the air outside is too bad (car exhaust etc) there are gadgets for that too, but have not seen a correct one for pc control and low price. but if your on vacation you dont have to dispense parfum, or when the windows are open. Maybe a bit overkill (but then again so is my vodafone perl script which can show my current balance online if i want it too)
