Any chance to remove the restriction that users can't do a query on a common word.

I assume the purpose is to reduce the load on the server, but it does not really help the user.

Also I have the impression that common words in the whole database are also used for the subforums. For example visonic is a common word in general, but I doubt that it is a common word in the subforum rfxcom. Still, I'm not allowed to query this forum with the word visonic.

I know that I can just extent the query with more words, but often a single word will give me an acceptable number of hits. Edit: This is not true, the common (most important) word is ignored.

I check this a long time ago, not so easy to, generating much load and not helping much
the word visonic for example just give to much results (like thousands!)

I also struggled with the search capabilities. See my post on this. Seems the best workaround is to go via google....

And how many hits do you get using the word Visonic in the RFXCom subforum?

Thanks Olof. I tried that, but is a bit of a hassle. This forum should be a bit less restrictive. Haven't seen this with other forums. But Pieter decides, so let's wait what he replies on my reply.

forgot to tell Olaf is very right.....
and you get 5000 hits for this forum on google if you search on Visonic
Like i told before, the forum is on a very small server, this generated load and does not help you with the result i think.
Perhaps there is patch now for BB3, not sure, did invest a lot of time in the past, but never a good result.

Perhaps a 'simple' work-around is possible by installing a Google search button/box on this forum? Similar to what many websites are already doing?
