difference rmxcom basic and with Xpl

I should buy a rfxcom transeiver. But wat is the difference rmxcom basic and with Xpl? which should i buy?
The RFXLAN can be flashed with TCP/IP or xPL firmware.
Both versions use the same hardware but to start with xPL you can order http://www.rfxcom.com/store/Transceivers/11202
