could you post a complete json output once please?
I've been fiddling around with the userguide of Xavier, but when reading your article here I see you're getting other outputs then the actual json file in the userguide?

I'm still awaiting roowifi (in transit) and I'm already fidling around with some basic lua code for the Fibaro HC2. So if you have a bit of actual json output I can finish up the code before it actually arrives and start playing with it

We are still busy with Roowifi to get the right json, some function are not workng as expected.
xavi is busy with that, so check which version you are getting!
Digit has latest version also, i will post the current setting later

I bought it through Xaviers distributor. I'm trusting Xavier and his distributor are sending me a proper one.

I don't want a lot, just the 3 function buttons and a proper json output.

dont be sure about that, better is to contact, you can control the Roomba with the current version
but the new version has the push noticfication to a certain ipnr/port

Had my unit today. Not happy yet and yes I'm contacting Xavier first.

First observation is it's having issues connecting to my wifi, while all other devices in the network have no issues.
Using a 26 character/digit wifi WPA/WPA2 PSK. having it shortened doesn't seem to help either, still resetting it constantly with a "wifi network setting wrong" remark or a "connection to gateway lost".

trying to figure this out and then work from there.
having a hotspot connection to the iphone did give me a nice opertunity to race with "Oscar" against my son's RC car

Is your wifi in the router on B and G, the RooWifi is Only B.

Ehm, documentation states otherwise that it's B/G/N compatible.
I only run a G and a N network (seperate ID's) in the house.

I did test on B or G or N (exclusively) with either Open, WPA or WPA2. But it didn't work for me. Still working with Xavier to debug this.

To give an idea of what happens.
- Device settings are saved and the device is rebooted
- Blink twice per second (for about 20-30 seconds)
- Device blinks once per 3 seconds (for about 30 seconds) (or sometimes skips this phase)
- Device burns bright red, soft red, (reset loop) and turns to blinking once every second.

Key remark is Connection to gateway lost.
When it blinks once per 3 seconds it does get a DHCP lease and an IP-address is issued to the device, including dns, dhcp etc etc.

Have any ideas?

I have a vigor router, once set to also accept B its was setting up directly.

I'm using a Netgear WNR3500L and 3 of Alfa Network iMesh routers.
The Netgear has it's own 2 SSID's (pub and priv network) and the mesh has it's own G network.

I've tried a "combined" B/G network on the iMesh devices as well. It didn't work. and when it worked, it only worked for 30 seconds. Then it reset itself giving a message "Connection to Gateway Lost".

Did you try to reset the roowifi by holding the button and start over

I've held that button for more then just once
I've pressed it, pressed and hold it 10 sec. I've not read the manual bit on that one, but it doesn't seem to like the routers I have. I've had both switched on with 802.11b capabilities today, but nothing helped.

I've even shortened my wifi key on one of the devices from 63 characters to 10 HEX values: BADC0FFEE1
couldn't be more perfect. I've tried both WPA2 (EAS) and WPA (TKIP) both PSK, not enterprise radius.
I've even tried open.

I've mailed my findings to Xavier and I'm awaiting his response and see what else we can debug on the little bugger.

we have to wait, i know Robert had some problems connecting as wel, but it worked.
we are still busy with Xavi in the TCP protocol, looks like some diffs in Roomba firmwares

I'm a bit busy right now but when I have some time I'll try to write down what I had to do to get the RooWifi connected to my Fritz AP.
It wasn't easy, I can tell you that.

Well, I had the issues with my Alfa Network iMesh WAP's and the Netgear WNR3500 router. I have a Fritzbox 93x0 series right now from xs4all for my FTTH connection. It works like a champ, until it overheats. Heat is the issue with my device and when it overheats, all fun is over. Are you having this issue as well?

I've noted that the device gets a lot hotter when connected to the charging dock, then when it's undocked and driving.

yes very hot here too, also firmware regarding tcpip not good yet, so not in use at the moment for me
No News from Roowifi sofar, taking long now, hope all can be fixed
