I just received a beta testing board from Xavier. I'll report back how it's working. I'm planning to test it out tomorrow.
Initial testing when I plugged it in: it's way way colder. I can touch it without burning my fingers!

Regards,

Jelle

Same here, new beta board arrived.
The 'hot' area on the PCB has been changed completely when I compare it with some images I made of the previous board.
Unfortunately I won't be able to start testing before Monday or Tuesday... :(

I've had the chance to hook up the device. It seems to be working like it should.
I left it on the roomba during the night and this morning it was still responsive. I'll check the heat with my finger tonight and see how it goes.

Tonight I'll have a go at some json scripts for the fibaro HC.

I like to buy also a roowifi device for a internet connection of a roomba with HS.
What is you experience till now of this roowifi? Are the problems gone?
The power supply has changed on the V2 and new price will be a little higher.

For me it seems to work stable now. The only big issue I had was the device being expunged by an obstacle in the room. I haven't found the culprit yet, but I suddenly found my roowifi laying around somewhere in the room.

Begin December I ordered a Roowifi. I was Lucky, because the roowifi was offered for Christmas.last week I got the Roowifi by post and I was very curious how it was working.

Here my experiences:
The print was very small and well prepacked in a little box. No case was available for the roowifi.
First I download the manual and read him very well. This is important, because you can miss very easy some points.
After plug in the print into the roomba, the red led was blinking every second once.
First you have to search the wifi network of the roowifi. That was not possible with a laptop with windows 8. No Wifi signal was found. I have no other laptop.
I wrote an email to Xavier and after several hours I got an email back with the advice to use a laptop with windows 7. And yes, with a laptop with windows 7 the Wifi signal was visible.
After changing the open wifi connection of the roowifi into an internal home network connection, you will see the roowifi after some time in your network. This must be done by changing the configuration setup of the roowifi. The led of the roowifi is blinking every 3 seconds once.
Now it is possible to get a connection from every laptop and mobile to the roowifi and his internal ip-adress. Also on windows 8.
If you login into the Roowifi you get also a possibility to give commands to your roowifi.
After some time with the roowifi is in the roomba, is this possible with laptop and with the app on your mobile.
I have controlled if their were problems as told before by some persons, but all problems are solved.
When you use the manual, look at the manual of the roowifi at your laptop. I print out the manual, but several lines in the manual aren't print on paper. In the pdf files is all visible.
You must buy something on the roomba, as told by Pieter. See http://www.cyberhuis.nl/roomba/roomba-5 ... ensie.html
Otherwise your roowifi can detroy your roowifi when he is cleaning.
I my eyes is making a new wifi connection with the roowofi, very slow.
Now I get to work for the connecton in Homeseer. I saw some scripts on the homeseer forum.
I'm happy with this new roowifi.

BR Wim :)

Hi Wim

did you try the ip/port server, this one gibe to push notifications.
the problem i still have (with new Roowifi) is that the values go to ZERO (0) after some hours and a reboot of the Roowifi is needed.
All other works fine for me too, but the ip/portserver is the main use for me and you dont have to Poll the roowifi for status(change)
There a small case protection available for the Roowifi also

This week i received the specs for the thinking cleaner solution and this looks very promising!
