CR3110 to check TV on/off status

Hi,
I was experimenting with a CR3110(split-core transformer) in combination with a powerflash interface to check if the TV is on or off. When I switch on the (plasma) TV a "ON" signal is received but right after that a "OFF" is received as well. So I think the CR3110 is measuring a peak which is enough to send a signal to the powerflash interface, but after that there is not enough current to leave it switched on.
Does anyone knows a solution for this behaviour ??
