Does anyone know where to get fw 4.0, I cannot find it anywhere

Why would you want firmware 4.0? There's only one tiny bug fix on top of it in firmware 4.0.1. It's hard for me to believe there can be any advantage in using 4.0 over 4.0.1.

I upgraded to 4.01 yesterday and lost the connection to the boiler, only seeing messages from the thermostat and error 03 messages.
Maybe 4.0 does not have these problems.

That is extremely unlikely since the only change between 4.0 and 4.0.1 is a fix in rounding of numbers returned by the PS=1 command. Firmware 4.0 is not available for download anymore, but all of the
4.0 alpha and beta version are. Those may have much more interesting differences.
