New to Domotica

Hello knowledgeable members.
We are a couple that's about to build our home in the Netherlands. We've just learnt about Domotica and are rapidly considering it for our new home. There is so much out there on with topic it's overwhelming. So we are happy to have come across this forum.
After a quick glance I think what we “need” and can afford is, heating lighting & security.
What options do you have/use and couldn't live without?
