Hmmm, interesting.
I have modified plcbus.pl to deal with both versions of PLCBUS devices so should work regardless of whether it uses ETX or a checksum (provided it is actually 0x200) while still actually confirming the validity of the received frames. I don't have any of the new devices so am only able to test with the older versions. If someone could test and confirm it works would be appreciated.

Thanks I already found that thread and changed the script (probably the same change as @waynet dit). I took the liberty to put the script under version control, I hope you don't mind @waynet (it took a while for the moderator of the forum validated my account and my first post)
