PTZ Riddle

Today a courier dropped-off a PTZ dome camera and a PTZ controller. Looking at the controller, I can see something is not right.

The question is: Can you see what is wrong?

Image

Besides the minor 'defect' it works perfectly (so does the dome).

Number '3' is missing?

Must be a 'bad number' in the country where it was developed? [?]

No wait, maybe they have run out of 333's because there product is so 1337 ...]

What intriges me, what does the button 'FUN' do?

The FUN button is short for 'FUNction'. Pressing it and you enter the setup menu of the controller.

@Wifi: Yeah, they really FUNACKed up the keyboard [:D]

The PTZ dome camera will be managed by a DVR that has PTZ control possibilities.

The stand-alone PTZ controller comes in handy when programming the dome. The dome has an OSD menu that is accessible through the controller.

I bought it on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0050569128

It has a Sony Ex-View HAD sensor, ICR, 360 degrees continuous panning etc.

price is very good for all that features! it's from china , let's hope it will have a long life. i have a ptz cam (internal) from china 120 euros. today i have bought a fish ballon (yes where fishes swim...) to use as an outdoor closing . it will be attached to the top of a balcony with some screws to ensure a waterproof setup (all around the hole, some neoprene layers).

A 1/3 inch CCD, provided it has the same amount of pixels as a 1/4 inch CCD, should provide a better picture as it has a smaller surface, so it needs less light to display a picture.

However, I do not see the difference between 1/4 and 1/3.

@drmacchi: I paid E 450 for it (dome + controller + corner mounting bracket). Shipping was included in the price. I estimate the camera to last at least between 1 to 2 years. Should it break down I just replace the broken parts with new ones.
