Hosting with multiple domainnames etc.

Post by Bwired »

Hi Guys

I know there is a lot of expertise on hosting on this forum.
I want to move this forum (and other sites) to a new hoster.
I have some demands:

Windows based
Mysql
ASP and ASP.net
PHP
Large datalimit or better fair use
must be able to host multiple domainnames (sites) to or ON this server
Good panel or access
Not like 100mb free space but more
good backup
Good internet connectie

Who know one, keep in mind that I want to stay indipendent so no ties
thanks sofar!

Why not have your own 1U server in a datacenter?
You can do this already from +/- 35 euro per month.

To keep things on a low budget you will need to run Linux and a free panel (like ISPconfig) on it.

You can even host friends websites on it for a low fee.

An other (more expensive)

note:
dedicated server = a server from them installed the way you want it.
colocated server = your own server.

www.hetzner.com 49 euro's (no setup fees at the moment) and you can choose windows web edition on it.. but you get loads more then you can ever have in .nl (not to mention that you dont have to care about your hardware) comes with bigger hardware, bigger space, more memory.. you can go for leaseweb if you prefer a .nl place but why care.. i have been using multiple hetzner machines now and it still works like a charm.

I you want Windows on a server you pay like 20 euro more
On servers Windows will eventually lose the battle if they keep up these prices
I have some good choices now, I have to chose :)
for now I only have to run two sites there, so my own server would be fun.
But as Eric is telling I think a bit overkill.

Chaks provider has a hosting packages where i can run 10 websites, need to check this one.
Thanks all.
