light sensors
Hi all. I am also very much interested in a lightmeter (giving access to some light 'value' that you can test on in Homeseer) but... although I would be able to solder something together... I would need exact instructions on how to do it and exactly what to get. Ideally I'd buy a ready made module b...

ELRO 'Flamingo' AB400DSS set
Hi Bert. The set I mentioned that needs you to pair up remote and switch/dimmer unit was on the market by Elro and homebrand HEMA. On the ELRO remote it says: AB300 (model 288C) As far as I am aware these are no longer for sale. They worked very well but had the drawback that if you lost power, you ...

ELRO 'Flamingo' AB400DSS set
Ah no, mine look totally different... but I find it a cool idea that someone actually knows how to add them to the RFXCOM software. That makes me quite keen on buying a RFXCOM set. Sadly it's a bit of an investment if you want to buy the set...so... I will have to save up for it. What I was really h...

ELRO 'Flamingo' AB400DSS set
Hi Digit... are these the ones where you have to pair buttons on the remote with the switches and it will choose a random code and store it? (And subsequently lose it by the way when you have a powercut?)(HEMA sold those too as a home brand version) I have some of those as well which would be nice t...

Newbie: IR commands from Homeseer
Thanks John for your advice. I have ordered one (from the UK) as that seems to be THE (only) place where you can buy them. Generally speaking what I find a problem with ordering from abroad is the rather hefty shipping charges (20 dollars in this case) but that's one thing... when/if something goes ...

Newbie: IR commands from Homeseer
Well... I thought I was on the right track but it seems rather impossible to find a (web)shop in Holland that actually sells such a USB UIRT unit. Are there any Dutchies out here who might know of a supplier in NL? Thanks!

Newbie: IR commands from Homeseer
Ah yes, after I posted my previous post I realised I could have put this question to the RFXCOM peeps which I did and within 5 minutes they responded with a similar answer. In fact they recommended I install a UIRT device, combined with a Powermid, which I will look into now. That might do the trick...

Newbie: IR commands from Homeseer
John's info made me think of another solution that might work better for me... mainly since I do not have coax communication possibilities in my house.. so here's a question that I hope someone out here might know. I am currently using one IR to RF/RF to IR set (cheap and cheerful) to send IR from o...

Newbie: IR commands from Homeseer
Wow, thanks... that's a lot of info! As I'm writing this I haven't actually looked into it yet but from your reply I get the impression you have looked into this quite thoroughly and that gives me the confidence it'll be exactly the kind of information I was hoping for. As soon as I have made some p...

Newbie: IR commands from Homeseer
Hallo allemaal.
