- It is possible to place Xanura modules in 4 cm boxes if you have no earth contact and also it depends of the manufacturer of the instal. material. - There are cheaper methods but in most cases also less reliable. Because Xanura is X10 compatible you can find some computer interfaces but if you wil...

Why use group commands on interfaces (DIX1/AIX)?
Sorry I forgot to mention that a DIX2 module doesn't change state because it has a fixed on and off position. (On and Off are on different wires, on the DIX1 and AIX the ON/OFF is on the same wire so the module changes its internal state in the toggle mode)When you want to switch on or off you can p...

Why use group commands on interfaces (DIX1/AIX)?
When the actuator changes the state due to an groupcommand, the interface that controls the actuator will change state as well, when you programm the interface accordingly. So for example when you would have an actuator on A1 and responding to Group commands and you would switch the actuator on with...

Disappointing quality of Xanura products
I can imagine that you are disappointed with what I saw on your pictures. I would be also disappointed! But when I am unhappy about something I bought I go back to my supplier. I confront him with my problem so he can do something about it. Maybe he is not aware of your problem so that I could not r...

Disappointing quality of Xanura products
Hi Mindbender, Who is your supplier of Xanura components? I agree with the quote. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the materials you should contact your supplier. If he is not responsable for the quality your supplier should bring it to the attention of the manufacturer. Eaton is known a...

Agree with Han, powerline cords have an inductance of about 0.8uH/meter, so some "absorbers" have no negative infuence on signal attenuation. In general (my experience) is to plase 1 to 3 filter coils to increase the impedance of the appliance per house. Only "big" switch mode po...

Xanura vs. Marmitek
Hello Han,
I know, both modules types do only transmit during one phase.
You have to use a active phasecoupler/repeater for communicating over all three phases. This is much better for the signal level (passive couplers always attenuate the signal to other phases).

You must place inductor coils in line (in serie with the line or neutral) with signal absorbs like PC's, monitors, tv-sets etc. all stuff containing switched mode power supplies. The the signal level in your house will rise. The choke coils must withstand at least the maximum current (16A?) of the a...

Yes, this low level is no problem for the input, if the amplitude is 3V or less. Explanation: if you connect it in cascade then you add some differential voltage in series with the (5V) input level. The input changes state if the voltage increased from 0V to more then +3V level or from +5V down to +...

Because there exist a wide range of modules, first check the installer manual of the module. The wire dimension tells you that it can only withstand low current connections. So look the manual! Second the blue wire tells you (indeed) i...
