Hello,
I'm new to this forum and X10. (i've read the begginer section).
I'm trying to automate my house, and i've set up a few goals achiveve:
Goal 1- Control corridor ligts.
Currently: Each corridor light is controlled by three switches. (?Group Inversor switch?)
Automation: Replace the three switches with sensor switches.
(don't know the name in english, but they have a sensor in place of the button)
Questions: Do i need x10 for this: soft start/dim the lights when they turn on/off, and maybe at knight only use half the maximum power so that the light is not too agressive?
what do i need to use?
Goal 2- Control blinds.
Goal 3- Turn everything off when i leave the house/go to bed.
Three goals seems a good number to start, one at a time.
I'll try to doument everyting and post the results so that other people may bennefit it.
Thank you.

Always good to see new people, welcome. Just make sure you read enough documentation, since there is alot. Goal 2 and 3 are the most easiests, if you get a remote controlled blind your ready to go and goal 3 you need something to indicate your gone and the software turns everything off (homeseer?)
Goal 1 depends on what type of sensor switches it will be. Since i have not seen any sensor/touch ones besides the really really expensive ones from england (to be used in the bathroom behind a tile for instance)

I'm looking at sensors similar to this from Legrand:

and then hook up some x10-widgetry to the sensor.
Can this be done? Better question, is this a good idea?
