Reliability Kaku device's
What is the reliability of Kaku device's
I try to control my device's with Rfxcom transmitter and many time's that go's wrong. The device's works fine with the Kaku AB but many times they fail to react on RFXtransmitter. And a amst 606 also give many time aan wrong status when there is at fast a open en close action.

The distance is about 25 meter free sight!
But control with the Ab is working fine.(same distance)
And so its works and so it stops working again

I have also few Kaku devices.
For my garage lamp I'm also using the AMST606
When the door is open lights will turn on.
In the last months this was very reliable.
What I also do is pick op the RF signal from the AMST606 and updated the Homeseer status via Rfxcom
Rfxcom is not always seeing the signal from the AMST606
Distance or collision can't be the problem
Kaku receiver AC-1000 is receiving the signal well..
Rfxcom is closer to the AMST606 than the AC-1000.
The Rfxcom transmitter is working better but not so good as the Kaku remote YCT-102.
I'm going to play with the antennas..hope this can make the receiver better.

Hi, I have just received the RFXCOM device and installed it. Now I have it working with my KAKU modules in HS. The only problem is that it reacts slow (3 seconds) and like written above, unreliable; a lot of times I have to send the off signal 3 times!
The RFXCOM is placed 1 meter (!) from the KAKU switch which switches a lamp. Sometimes it does not respond to an on/off command...
Maybe I did some settings wrong? Has somebody an idea?
Thanks.

What is your RFXCOM configuration?
How do you trigger the On/Off commands?

What do you exactly need to know about the config? It's a 86005 device. I have configured com10 and 11 for receiver and transmitter. It's connected wireless with the HS laptop. The On/Off triggers are done manually from the devices view in HS.

please post a (small) copy of the RF interfaces configuration page showing the receiver and transmitter config.
And post a (small) copy of the Output Devices config page.

Pasting an image doesn't work, even when it's very small...
On the interfaces it's as following:
Receiver 1 > Com10 > X10,ARC,OS,AC,ATI all selected
Transmitter 1 > Com11 > X10,ARC,Har,Fla,AC,HS all selected
In fact all my output devices are configured the same, e.g.:
Schemerlamp > Code A1 > DevType Light module > Transmitter 1
Is there a difference in Device Types by means of function of the RFXCOM?
Thanks for your help.

Important: select only the protocols that are used!!
The receiver will become a bit more sensitive and the transmitter will become faster.
If you have the new type of KAKU modules (with program button and without address wheels) then configure these devices as AC MODULE or AC DIMMER.
Keep the HS (handshake) selected on the transmitter!

Bert, I have only selected the protocols used and now it's working much faster. Thanks.
I have still the old KAKU modules...
When I turn on/off the devices with a HS event, most of the time I have to run the event 3 times to have all the 7 lights switched off... not really reliable.
Is this a problem of the "old" type of KAKU modules?

Are the KAKU modules switches off when you use a KAKU remote on the same location as the RFXCOM transmitter?
And try to switch off the modules with a 1 second delay between each command

When I use the KAKU remote, all works fine (also when holding the unit on the same place as the RFXCOM transmitter). When I use the 1 second delay it works better, but still not all the devices turn off. The strange thing is that it's not always the same device that doesn't switch off. It seems to be random.

I also tried with more time between each command (2 or 3 seconds), but also without result. It looks like the signal from the RFXCOM is given too short or something.
Can the signal be disturbed by something? Filtering possible?

Bert, I think something goes wrong... I see that you have replied on 22nd of December at 20h30, but I do not see the reply in the topic.
Can you please post again?
Thanks,
Edwin
