Ik zelf ben momenteel bezig met een Rabbit core om alle ruimtes in huis te meten qua temp. (Ook via telnet)

Waarom zelf het wiel nog een keer uitvinden.

I work at the moment with a Rabbit core to temp all rooms in the house with a one wire bus.

Hi,

i build this too to measure my gas consumption, though i have a problem.
When the meter is moving very slowly, the sensor seems to react also on the digits (or the change in black/white).
Any idea how i can solve that?

Try to set the sensor a bit further from the digits, did you also use the potential trimmer (potmeter) to adjust?

I tried increasing the distance between sensor and digits, to no avail. Also the potmeter is adjusted.

Looking at the CNY70 datasheet/application note, the optimal current for the transmitter is between 20-40 mA, though with the 2 resistors of 560 ohm (1120 ohm as they are in series), we only get 4 mA. I think replacing the 2 resistors with one of 180 ohm would help a bit, don't you think?

For measure gas and water consumption, i am using an induction sensor (SICK MM08-60APS-ZTK) instead of an optical monitor. The sensor is placed a 1/1000 digit.

Gas

Water

For Belgium gas/water meters it works perfectly.

got any price indication and/or addresses where they can be bought? (i'm located between Sint-Niklaas and Mechelen)

This sensor just provides a NO contact?

To what are they connected to at your place?

@DDGiel, I have a gas meter that has no mirror to measure gas. Does this induction meter work on any gas meter or does it have to have some kind of magnet/mirror? (I don't know if mine has a magnet but I will try tonight....

by the way: I have the same watermeter and there is a magnet inside that gives a pulse every 0,5 liter. You can insert a probe (Reed relais) when you remove the small plastic cap 3 cm to the right of your induction meter.

You Can try and experiment a bit, this schematic should work perfectly, is being used by a lot of Domoticans.

I have it working guys.

1st, I removed one of the 560 ohm resistors, and increased the distance between the sensor and the gasmeter.

2nd, the fake pulses turned out to be noise on the powerline.

Need to find a way to solve that damn noise. Would a UPS help ?

Yeah!!
I don't know the exact word for it but did you try a "coil" on the powerline just in front of the sensor print.
