Webclient released

Post by RDNZL »

Since yesterday DomotiGa has a web frontend.
For now it's only a device status page, but things will expand in the future...

It uses web 2.0 technology like json, xmlrpc and ajax to update all fields.

Check out the wiki for more information.

Regards,
Ron

Will DomoTiga eventually have a full featured web interface?

The only reason I haven't installed it yet is because all of my linux servers are headless, and the machines around the house that I would use it on are all Macs, or little internet tablet things.

Running it as a server on a dedicated box and accessing it strictly through an Ajaxy interface would be perfect.

The current DomotiGa project was started as a Proof of Concept, it has proven to be capable of doing things right, and the development time is very short, i.e. it's easy to test/build something in Gambas.

The Webclient above was used to test the build-in XMLRPC server, and that works ok too.

I'm planning on building a fully fledged html/ajax web interface, with an XMLRPC connection and MySQL connection to the database.
I'm starting as soon as I have the time.

Things on the list now are:
Building support for Domotica hardware modules (Heino Peters), RFXCom Transmitter support, Expand and fix Events routines, build a new web interface.

Maybe people can start to think about the layout they prefer?

Ron.
