RF versus X10

Post by Eric J »

As a newbie, I would like to start the following discussion:

X10 is nice, but, what I've read so far, susceptible to noise, therefore not always making it work. Furthermore, it is not cheap.

KAKU / RF devices is RF, works better, and is cheaper. I've seen the "same" micromodules from KAKU as from X10 brands.

So, why not skip X10 completely, buy Homeseer with the necessary receivers / transmitters, and do everything with KAKU / RF devices?

Am I wrong, did I not read enough?
Floor is open....

RF versus X10

Post by Snelvuur »

x10/xanura has more devices, its still the baseline for most houses. At this moment since the xanura will be changing i will be going with z-wave (these days they have nicer devices) and the speed is also faster from what i have read. (comes with a pricetag too) i prefer a wideline acceptated line like z-wave over KAKU because thats only for NL. New devices for z-wave are popping up and have allready more then KAKU as far as i know.

So, basically one plus for RF ...? Just checked Z-wave on a few sites.
Your comment... comes with a pricetag too... is an understatement though, wow, some price tags....[:0]
