Wanadoo Livebox

Post by a3b »

I installed some X10 modules as a start for my home domoticaproject.
They functioned ok.
However, after switching on the Wanadoo livebox, all X10 modules failed to work.
I probably need filters.
I haven't tested all devices, but is it likely that lot's of devices interfere with X10 ?
I still have to install a fase coupler.
Does this help to prevent interference ?

I had the same situation with some devices.
Filtering is the best option.
Fase coupler will make the situation more worst.
Best is to have the X10 control unit in the meter cupboard
all other devices in the near must be filtered.
In the most Dutch houses there is only one fase...check this before buying fase coupler.

I have a 3 fase installation and already have a CAT3000 active repeater/fase coupler (not yet installed)
But if I understand you right, this will make the interference even worse.

a passive phase coupler like the fd10 will do this, but I don't think an active repeater/coupler like the cat3000 will give you extra noise.

There is alway noise on the net
If you use an repeater it will also increase the lever of noise.

Isn't it so that the active repeater only repeats correct signals ?

Anyway, tonight the CAT3000 will be installed, so I will know then if it makes a difference.
If not, I have to install filters... [V]

After installing the CAT3000, it reported continues errors.
They disappeared after plugging out the Livebox.
So I have to install a filter, or get rid of the Livebox. [^]

I was afraid that this will happen.
if you have an power cable with magnet's coupled on the cord...they will filter lot of noise.
Filter will definite help
What also will work and cheaper is is the LCD Apparaat- /Schakelmodule
5518 from MyPowershop
This device is from Uiitech all there devices have an filter
