Automating my curtains "invisible"

Post by Digit »

Every time i close the curtains, i'm thinking of how to do this automated. But everything i can think of, will just make the view of the curtain rails look worse. I do not want an extra rail to pull the curtains open or closed, or something like that. The solution has to be virtually invisible. Any ideas?

This is very hard to accomplish without seeing it. Is the setting in the book of Heino a possibility? Still you have to mount the little motor!
The only thing you can do is guess when its dark give a voice command telling your wife in nice way to close the curtains :-) I will post a photo with my setting.

First response i got on Pieter's picture was: "that's not gonna happen"[:)]
Additional problem is that the mount to the ceiling you see at the right side in my picture, is not in the middle. So i need to control each curtain separate, cause 1 has to travel 2,5 m. and the other 3,0 m. Hadn't thought of the setup mentioned in Heino's book. I'll look into that. 2 small motors near the ends should not be a problem though.
Thanx!

Right that could solve your problem....
I had that ceiling long before my electrical curtains otherwise a lot of work!
Next week I gonna place electrical curtains on the backside of my home (6 meters)
