Which Motion Detector (end of life: Xanura BSX1)

Post by acfnews »

Hi All,

Are there any tips for a (good) motion detector to be used for staircase lightning via X10/A10 ?
I believe the Xanura BSX1 is a good option, but it seems end of sale...
My requirement is a 220volt device, with X10/A10 embedded.

Thanks for any help,

Ron

The MS13 motion sensor is een exact copy of the Xanura BSX1 and still widely used. With this kind of setup there is always a time delay before the lights are switched on.

BTW: Are you sure it's not delivered anymore? knowing Xanura there should be a new model then?

You can build your own.
Motion sensor from jung

Connect the sensor to SAIX12/AIX12

This way is more comfortable with any delay.

In case 230V is closely available any 230V motion detector may be used ... the new XanuraHome modules can handle 230V input and has a second input ... in case using the other Xanura modules do some internal modifcation by cutting the 230V lead to the switching relay inside the motion detector.

@chak, i was thinking about that jung + sensor, but the total package does come out a whole lot more $$$. A ms13 is cheap easy, and with a rfxcom pretty darn fast in responding.

The Xanura SAIX12 can handle the 230V motion detectors. I believe the Jung motion detector has a actor within, so no status update and automatic switching or is there a combination with the SAIX possible?

Hi All,

Thanks for the feedback.
Most sensors run on batteries, i really like to stick to 220v.

Looks like i need to go with a seperate interface.
Also i could use a 'potentiaal vrij' one as i use the Xanura HCB. It does have some inputs for this use.

Does anyone have experience with Klemko's devices : http://www.klemko.nl/user_files/Aanwezi ... %2032m.pdf

They appear not that expensive, but still adjustable for hight/depth and light/dark...

?
Grtz,
ron
Xanura HCB, and some interfaces
