ZIR010 motion sensor

Post by Mversluis »

Just wondering,

Would there anybody having this device and configured ass well ..?
I faced a lots of problems with this device to proberly working in vera.

The system reorganise the motion sensor , and it would be very easy to set a event on motion ( like light on ).

BUt the second time there is a motion , the detector seems in alarm mode and would not accept and motion.

After a while it is in idle mode again and is working proberly.

Just want to change this time for going idle..

Pls advise me.

Thanks
Marco

CONFIGURING THE OFF/IDLE DELAY
The ZIR010 has a number of configuration parameters. The configuration parameter that can be used to adjust the
amount of delay before the OFF or IDLE command is transmitted is Configuration Parameter # 18. This parameter
can be configured with the value of 0 through 255. Where 0 means no delay and 255 means 255 minutes of delay.

Hi Marco.

No unfortunately not.

I had a ZIR010 for test for a couple of days, but i did not change parameter 18.

Are you sure the parameter was changed?

You properly have to push the button on the ZIR010, just before you send the parameter, to be sure it is awake.

You have to take out the batt. after replacing push "configure node now" within 10 minutes after replacing the parameters will be set in the ZIR010.

ZIR010 motion sensor

Hi Willem-jan,

It doesnot work that way.

The value listed under #18 is set to "0" but is still not doeing it like it should be.

I read somewhere that the value stated under #18 , not really 0 minutes is , but act like :
0 = 2 minutes
1 = 2 minutes +1
2 = 2 minutes +2

So i maked my time for light's on a little longer , that solved the problem for me.

Futhermore , you don't need to take out any battery's.
just made the new settings in advanced tab ,
with the new param like #18 - 0 , waith for a half hour or something and the new parameter is saved in the motion sensor.

Taking out battery's is not working because , it would not be easy to handle it with highness off ceilling ( where the motion sensor is located )

Marco

It means the status will become idle 3 minutes after the last detected motion.

So changing it to 0 doesn't do anything to the default settings. default.

Pulling out the batt. and pussing the button is for those who don't want to wait for the node to wake up.

I also tried to use the ZIR010...., not a succes thisfar....
I see 4 devices in HS:
- ZIR010-1 Sensor Binary
- ZIR010-1 (Master device....?)
- ZIR010-1 Battery
- ZIR010-1 Alarm

How do i set the value for using it as a motion sensor, and what is the value....
On the alarm device > Additional Information i see a status of 17 and a value of 0
And how do i use it as a motion sensor?

On the bottom of the second page of the manual, it says
0 = lighting mode
1 = alarm mode
2 = sensor mode

I have mine in sensor mode and my first trails appear to work. I had to use the internet by the way to figure out what these modes ment. Funny how the writer of this document expected that the target audience should know what the exact meaning of these terms are.

This can be done with the ACT remote, Vera (advanced options) and in Homeseer.
Can you tell us what you use, thats a little easier.

Let's make z-wave EZ

I'm new to the whole thing, but the alarm entry is probably the tamper alarm, i.e. if someone tries to physically disable the thing.
The sensor binary entry is probably the motion detector, to which you can hook up your associations or HS events (if associated with HS)

Personally - I am also looking for a way to edit configurable properties of z-wave devices in HS though- in my case the ramp rates of the ZDW dimmers.

Cheers,
Elco
