The 2nd reader is no different then the first reader. The only difference is that the second reader does not come with a cable to connect it to your serial port. However, the pinout is available in the documentation so you could easily build your own. It is just a DSUB9 connector with 2 cables. One for power and one with an RJ45 jack to go to the reader.
