Hi,
I'm very curious to see how other people solved this. I want to add LED strips below my kitchen cabinets.
Problem: When my dishwasher opens it would break the LED strip as it moves down (see picture).
Side-view
Solution: cut the LED strip in 3 parts: before-dishwasher, dishwasher, after-dishwasher (don't really like this)
Solution: cut the LED strip in 2 parts and don't mount it under the dishwasher (don't really like this)
Has anyone done this before? How?
LED strips & dishwasher?

Re: LED strips & dishwasher?
Here's how i did it:
When the dishwasher door is completely horizontal (open), the door goes "into" the plinth, so under the dishwasher door there has always been a small gap in the plinth. This has always been like that. What i did was glue a "hoek profiel" (sorry) on the inside of the plinth resulting in a horizontal surface sticking out at the gap in the plinth. That way i could attach the aluminum U-profile to it and i didn't have to cut the LED strip at all:

Hi DJf3,
As Digit discribe this is the way we solve it either by our customers.
You can use a L or U alu strip and mount this to the side of back onder the diswasher ( the fridge is also a problem device in kitchens
)
By some of our customers we made a disconcteble strip by each device, so when a device is broken. You can simple unplug the plugs and remove the broken device.
Regards,
marco

Nice!
This sounds good. Does it clearly show that the LED strip is placed lower where the dishwasher is? (brighter or more light on the floor?)
Thank you
DJ

Re: LED strips & dishwasher?
I have the same thing as digit has, and nobody ever said anything about a difference near the dishwasher.

Re: LED strips & dishwasher?
One small piece of advice though, use a U profile ant an L profile as you will need to attach it to the 'plint' and when you do not cover it at the front you will see the LED strip from the side, when looking from a bit further away.
