HomeSeer with Active Backup Plugin

Post by Verkenner »

Vrienden, ik wil een case (met oorzaak en gevolg) met u delen. ;-)

For some years I make Homeseer-backups on a networkdisk (NAS) with plugin ActiveBackup (Event starts every night at 04:00 after midnight).
But for same days Homeseer is crashing when making this backup (04:23 h.).

Een stukje Errorlog
28-8-2010 4:00:00 ~!~ActiveBackup Info~!~Compressed backup started from: C:\Program Files\HomeSeer HSPRO to \\TESTdrive\public\Homeseer Pro backup\ActiveBackup 201008280400.zip.
28-8-2010 4:00:13 ~!~ActiveBackup Info~!~Destination folder created: \\TESTdrive\public\Homeseer Pro backup.
28-8-2010 4:00:15 ~!~ActiveBackup Warning~!~Trying to making bit per bit copy.
28-8-2010 4:23:42 ~!~ActiveBackup Info~!~Bit per bit copy executed. Adding the file to backupset.
28-8-2010 4:23:42 ~!~ActiveBackup Info~!~Max ZIP file size reached (200 MB), SPANNING to multiple zip files. Closing: \TESTdrive\public\Homeseer Pro backup\ActiveBackup 201008280400\ActiveBackup 201008280400_1.zip. Current zip lenght: 129348
28-8-2010 4:23:42 ~!~ActiveBackup Error~!~ERROR. Unable to create destination ZIP file. Check file and folder write permissions.
Cannot find part of the pathC:\Testdrive\public\Homeseer Pro backup\ActiveBackup 201008280400\ActiveBackup 201008280400_0.zip.
28-8-2010 4:23:43 ~!~Web Server~!~Web Server stopped
28-8-2010 4:27:18 ~!~Startup~!~

The only reason for the crash I can remember is that I downloaded some Megabytes of Icons for use in BLicon.
From that moment Active Backup must backup a multivolume backup because the data exceeds 200MB (with the new icons).

But there is a BUG in Active Backup. Active Backup want to write the second ZIP on a wrong place:
"Can not find part of the path "C:\Testdrive\public\Homeseer Pro backup\ActiveBackup 201008280400\ActiveBackup 201008280400_0.zip".

TEST: Last night Active Backup succesfull made a backup to the hard disk D: in the Homeseer-PC. That works. ActiveBackup made a multi-volume backup on a LOCAL harddrive.

Conclusion: It seems that ActiveBackup has a problem making a multivolume backup on a networkdrive.

Doe uw voordeel er mee. ;-)

Best regards, Verkenner
