Everspring doorsensor configuring OFF delay

Post by Imbrium »

Hi,

I've been playing around with the SM103 door/windowsensor from Everspring.
Works fine for me.
Now i want to use it as an alarm for a door (in Homeseer).
I want the user to give a delay when he's opening the door to leave or to come before he can set the alarm to OFF.
In the manual they're talking about configuring the OFF-deay but i don't know how to do that in Homeseer.

Thanks for your reply but that doesn't work :(
Anyone ?
Or is there another solution in homeseer itself ?

It's a battery device. You have to be sure it is awake, when you send the parameter.

As far as I know, HomeSeer isn't good at waiting.

Morten is right
Beste way to change the config is set the device in tamper mode.

Homeseer is logging some delayed commands but as far as I know not the config commands.

I tried that and now....nothing works anymore :( :(
First i got a delay from about 40 seconds (setting was 20 seconds) then.....nothing anymore.
I restart all over again, erased the stick, reset the sensor, did the inclusion all over, but the sensor does not send any signal anymore. (i think)
Yesterday all worked so fine.
Please help me out........ :( :(

Hmmm how is the battery?

Resetting the sensor should fix a wrong parameter.

If it responds, maybe your can try setting parameter 2 to 1?

Thanks again for your reply mhn.
The battery, that's what i was also thinking so i replaced them.
I resetted everything that i can do but the stick doesn't receive answer anymore from the sensor.
I also set parameter 2 to 1 second but :x
When the sensor sends a signal the sticks blinks for a second but i don't see that anymore.
Can the sensor be broken down ?
The manual says that if the led not illuminates AND the senor doesn't work it may be broken down.
The led still illuminates when i use the sensor so what can be wrong here ?

Thx again.

Here is what I can think of:

Have the sensor been excluded and included in the network of the stick?

If not it might think it belongs to the old network, from before you resat the stick.

Have you somehow set parameter 1 to 0? That will make ON = OFF.

From manual:

The Configuration parameter that can be used to adjust the phase level of ON
command is transmitted is Configuration Parameter # 1. This parameter can be
configured with the value of 0 through 127.
Value 0: Set Device OFF(0x00)
Value 1-99: Set Device On (1-99)
Value 100-127: Set Device On to the last phase (0xFF)

HomeSeer has a good log. What's in the log, when you activate the sensor?

To me it sounds like some kind of Z-Wave network problem not broken devices.

Morten,

I didn't play with parameter 1 but 2.
Now the sensor keeps illuminating every 2 seconds
That's normal when you reset the sensor but after trying to include the sensor again it keeps doing that.
I called the shop where i bought it and that guy told me that about 2 out of 10 sensors from this type break down real quick.
I can get another tommorow so we will see what's the cause of the problem here.
Did anybody else have problems with this sensor ?
Wouldn't it be better to buy another type ? Aeon labs perhaps ?

Best regards,
Lode.

I have a few Aeon Labs door/window sensors, but they sometimes give me false readings - i.e. it won't register a close or open properly, so the device stays open in HS, while it isn't open, until I open/close the actual door again. I certainly wouldn't drive any sirens or alarms with them.

Cheers,
Elco

Hi,

Today i got a brandnew sensor.
I started very hopefully BUT......nothing
A completely reinstall of homeseer.....nothing.....
Inclusion, no problem....but when i try the senor i don't get any respond.
It's driving me nuts !!!
Can there be something wrong with the Z-stick ?
I updated the firmware from the Aeon-labs website.
I noticed that the radiobutton at the left side of the "No Status" indication is missing as you can see where i drawed the black arrow.
Can somebody please help me out ?

try rescan few times.
and wait for success.
if all your other zwave devices are working well than is you z-stick okay.

I did not hear any problem about this device and have sold enough to see problems if there are any.

Maybe a Monday morning batch.

I have it in use since june 2010 it's doing the work well.

You don't have to buy anything..:)
but always welcome.

I will do a new test installation and try to find out what the problem can be.

What versions do you use?

- Homeseer
- Z-stick
