Couple of questions

Hey everyone,

I have a few questions. I probably didn't search hard enough, or some things are
still unclear for me. So i hope you guys can help me out

1) "Hotel schakeling", i already have 2 off these in my home.
- 1 on the ground level and one on the first floor. This switches the light on the first floor.
- 1 on the first floor and one on the top floor. This switches the light on the top floor.

How would i go about keeping the "hotel schakeling" functionality but also automate it with zwave.

Would i use 2x Duwi 05431 for each "Hotel Schakeling"?
Or should i use 1x Duwi 05431 and keep one normal switch?
Or..should i use 1x Duwi 05431 and use the Duwi 064435 ("Wandzender").

2) I used to use a savinglamp (spaarlamp) in my living room. This was connected to a universal dimmer.
However after a while, this saving lamp started flickering. The cause was that saving lamps couldn't be dimmed..
Although it worked fine for a while...it broke down after a while.
Would a zwave dimmer be able to dim saving lamps? If not, would it still be possible to use a dimmer and just set it
to 100% or 0% or would that be the same effect or would that still not be possible with for example saving lamps?

3) At the moment our Dinner table lamp and living room lamp are switched by the same lightswitch.
Would it be possible to disconnect the living room lamp and put the Duwi 05431 in "centraal doos" so i could switch
it using zwave? And use the old switch for just the the dinner table?

I know X10 or click on click off have these for inside the "centraal doos" but im not clear if this is the case for zwave.

within my home I am replacing the standard switches with z-wave operated devices. I have choosen to use Duwi materials, and I recognize your questions.

1) 'Hotelschakeling'
the way I made a 'hotelschakeling' is by using 1 Duwi Dimmer and 1 Duwi 064435 ("Wandzender").
To my information you can not use 2 Duwi switches/dimmers to make a 'hotelschakeling'.

2) The Duwi dimmers can only dim the dimmable CFL lamps (also known as 'spaarlamp'). Not all CFL lamps can be dimmed, and indeed you can damage them if you try to dim a non-dimmable CFL lamp. When switching on a Duwi Dimmer, the dimmer fades from 0% to 100% in about 2 seconds, and vice-versa when switch off the Duwi dimmer. So, between 0% and 100% the CFL lamp is dimmed, and you can get the same problems as you already noticed.
Why not play save and use a switch instead of a dimmer? (That's what I did for my non-dimmable CFL lamps).

3) I exactly had the same problem; 1 switch for 2 light points. I used a frame that can contain 2 switches, where 1 put in 1 real switch, and 1 'wandzender'. The other switch I could place on the lowered ceiling, nearby the light point.
The Duwi switches/dimmers consist of the switch/dimmer block that justs fits the 'inbouw doos' . A frame can be clicked on the switch/dimmer block, and is used to mount the switch/dimmer on the 'inbouw doos'.
Since the switch/dimmer justs fits in the 'inbouw doos', and the switch/dimmer contains the buttons to operate the switch/dimmer, you need to be carefull when building in the switch/dimmer. The buttons may be pressed accidentally when the cover is placed on the 'centraal doos'.The 'centraal dozen' I have seen in my house are to full with the wires, and there is absolutely no room for adding a switch/dimmer in it.
However, if you choose (and are able) to put them in a 'centraal doos', please keep in mind that that the wandzender is associated with the switch/dimmer.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my maybe "simple" questions.
And sorry about my late response. Been way to busy.

Anyways...

1) Oke so 1 Duwi Switch and 1 "Wandzender".
Ssoo....I have to remove 1 normal switch then and replace it with the "wandzender".

2) The problem is i don't know yet what lamps im gonna have. In some rooms it would also be nice to be able to DIM.
I think i will go for the dimmers, and when buying new lamps, i have to make sure that they can be dimmed Or maybe a mix of normal and dimmable.
So i can switch them around a bit

3) Thanks for answering, so it is possible. Im worried about the space as well in the ceiling "inbouwdoos". But sadly i have no other option.
So either there is room or not. About the wandzender is a good idea. I was thinking about not using a Switch as in wandzender as all. And just let it
be event controlled.
