Hi all,
I am looking for some new switches and noticed the s10 switches on the following webshop: http://www.elekhomica.nl/product_info.p ... cts_id=656
These are two light dimmer switches (that are not available from x10). The information states that it is compatible with x10 aswell. I was wondering if there is a big difference between x10 and s10 in that case because s10 is also compatible with x10 as well.

As far as I know there isn't a big difference. The protocol is almost the same.
But there can be a lot of differences in functions. For example: The S2221 (3-wire dimmer) doesn't send X10 commands when you use the local switch buttons. It will receive them. And you can use the local buttons to control the light. In some situations no problem. In combination with for example Homeseer not so nice.
I prefer the normal X10 devices, although A10 (Xanura) is even better (and more expensive).

Do you know if there is a 2 device dimmer within the x10 range that does send the x10 command over the powerline?

I have a Xanura DIX2. You can control 2 devices with this, but none local. So for evey device you need an other module. As far as I know there are no modules which combine local and remote dimming for 2 devices. I'm looking for this module too!

So you have to put a module in each light point and a new module on the switch aswell. Thats an expensive hobby
