Hello people,

Actually, I can help out since I work for HPS. Hope this post is allowed, but since there is some debate about our pricing I'll give it a shot. [:D]

The price for this unit with a CV766C (VIA C7-1GHz, 4x RS232 /1x LAN) mainboard is EUR625,= ex VAT. Not too steep, I hope? All you need to make it into a complete system is a 2.5" harddisk and some DDR memory, which we can install as well.

This does not include the optional touchscreen, additional costs for that are roughly EUR140,=

That depends on the context: For an Information Point, an industrial console or a Point Of Sale it's really not expensive.

But this forum is mostly made up of people who are looking at it from an at-home point of view. And I can't say that E625 + E140 * 1.19 = E910,35 is a very attractive price for a 1GHz pc without SDRAM or mass storage...

But it's an exclusive solution that will look very well in any living room and that's worth something too.

in the end i think most people only need a full screen browser.. so you can use a thin client to.. those are cheap on ebay.. like one of the topics of mindbender.. but 1000 euro's is a bit to steep for me (as home user) since i know i can 'build' something cheaper. Nokia tabled for instance.. even a itouch is cheaper and does enough for most people but besides this all it does look like a nice product though.

Ik heb onlangs een Lexcom 15"en een Lexcom POS 15" aangeschaft.
De Lexcom 15" heb ik nu draaien met Homeseer en de RFXCOM LAN receivers/transmitter. De POS ga ik binnenkort testen en zal dan een verslag geven van HPS en de beide Lexcoms.
