New zwave products from Aeon Labs

Post by TANE »

Almost 2 years after the launch the micro modules from Aeon Labs are available.
I will receive the first production versions tomorrow (12/1/2012)
Will post some pictures and compatibility with Homeseer and Vera

Nice thing about this modules is that they also can report the usage.

Available products:
Dimmers
Switches
Blind control

You can already order the Aeon Labs modules in the Dutch domotica webshops

For the Homeseer users there is a special plugin in the make to record the usage of the devices. This can also be used with the NorthQ and Everspring AN 158.
I will post about this when more info is available.

correct..

The Aeon Labs Smart Energy Motor Control is a Z-Wave blind control device specifically used to enable Z- Wave command and control (up/down) for existing in-wall blind and motor controls. It can also report immediate wattage consumption or kWh energy usage over a period of time. The wireless module is powered from the mains supply and is a three-wire design which requires a neutral connection. In the event of power failure, non-volatile memory retains all programmed information relating to the units operating status

it's a pity they only work to a maximum of 2000W and 8A so they can not be used for all my wall outlets which normally can consume to a maximum of 3600W 16A.
Are there other buildin products on the market for this usage (for example to use it on the walloutlet for (micro wave)oven/dishwasser/washing machine etc..)
and what happens when these aeon micro switch are overloaded (more than 2000W or 8A) are they broke?

About time!

Tane, again probably most of us would like to know:
- Status push possible to Homeseer
- Status push possible to Vera

I'm curious, what's the story with the plugin for homeseer regarding energy monitoring features of these modules? Is it something you're developing yourself?

Good looking modules, sad though that the price compared to a plugwise circle is so high...

First thoughts and some pictures.
They are BIG!!!

You will need 50mm to build them in.
there is not so much space left for the cables.

Wow, they need 50mm deep boxes. That's scary. I thought they were only 18.5mm thick (about as thick as the fibaro)

Anyway, if you're selling yours

Homeseer:
After adding the device homeseer will create 5 devices...see the attachment..not sure what the difference are between the devices.

In the association tab there is only one groupe.
I have added this to Homesee...Status will not be updated when manually controlled.

When adding poll time in root device this will update the status but not the usage.

Not sure how to update the status of the usage since there is no poll option in the settings of the device. You can use events to do that...

All of this not making me happy...

Will check the documentation for more option..
the included docu is only 1 A4..no talk about options etc..

Little bit more information about Homeseer support.

The latest version of Homeseer is not working wel with Multi Channel CC
This is the reason of the not updated status problem.
Homeseer is working on this problem and they hope to solve it in the next update.
