I believe you. It might have to do with the large number of orders. Perhaps they didn't expect that many and they have to make more of them. I think the groupon counter was over 1000 units ordered. That's probably quite a lot.

I must say I still have mine and I'm quite happy with it. It works pretty well for it's price.
