rfxcom beginners questions

hello all,

I want to start with a rfxcom transciever. Especially interested in the new USB version. but i have several questions and applications that i want to use it for:

Alarm;

I have an ELRO like alarm system at the moment. not sure if its 433 but can check. Is it possible to interface this, maybe with cracking the protocol if its not already bin done by someone else.
Other option; I also have a sc9000, but its not complete. need to buy some additional sensors. This one can be interfaced. But this is one way? arm and disarm or are there any other options? Can i also readout the ms90 pirs and doorsensors?

I know about the visionics alarms, but they are quite pricy and need about 6 pirs and 6 doorsensors

Solar sensor;

I own a alecto ws4000 weatherstation without solar, this is now interfaced by cumulus and homeseer. Any suggestions?

Car presence;

By using a oregan temperature sensor mounted in the car i can check if the car is present (sensor lost)

Water and gas usage;

RFXMeter option


Any suggestions, im using homeseer at the moment. Im also interested in second hand hardware if available for the applications i like to implement.
