Samsung 830 Series 128GB
Anyone has experience with this model of SSD, pricing seems attractive .....
Re: Samsung 830 Series 128GB
A few weeks ago I built a new machine to run Homeseer and I used the 64GB 830 drive after reading a few decent reviews about it. I suppose only time will tell if it is reliable.

Hi Paul, Which OS are you using ?
Re: Samsung 830 Series 128GB
I'm using W7 32 bit on this new machine because the Intel DN2800 board I used does not have full support for X64.
At present I'm really only testing the new machine so my old unit running XP Pro is still my live system.

Only good reviews and experiences. I am also considering moving away from Intels (more expensive and Sandforce controllers now) to the 830.
Very high speeds for the 256 and 512 versions, low price and high reliability. What more can you wish?
THe only thing I heard is that not all SSD work flawless with some RAID controllers but I assume thats not an issue for you.

No RAID here either, just a single drive.
The idea behind building a new machine was for Homeseer 3, if it ever appears
My intention was to have a completely fresh start rather than trying to update my existing system and I also wanted to see if I could build a unit with very low power consumption. My existing Via C7 based system with mechanical HDD uses on average 15 watts and the new system is averaging about 9 watts doing the same thing.
