Hello guys,
I'm going to start a project to control a powermax pro/complete panel from linux via shell commands (so i.e. it'd be easy to pass the information to a custom web application).
So before to start, I was wondering if somebody has already experimented with this
Perhaps I'd check rfxcom receiver for Visonic (http://www.rfxcom.com) as hardware to read the sensors information and Heyu (http://www.heyu.org) as interface. I'm not sure about how to read/set the alarm status. All ideas will be really welcome !!!
Thanks !
Mig

Hi Mig,
Welcome to Domoticaforum.
There is no way to controle the powermax since it's a closed secure system.
You can read the sensor status using rfxcom or the PC interface (search forum)
Only controle option is modification of the keyfob. I have done this about two years ago.

Can you share the details of how to mod the Visonic keyfob. I need to hardwire and switch via relays from Homeseer. Thanks

Tane i think you are mistakenTANE wrote:Hi Mig,

the Visonic Powermax can be controlled by rs232 (including setting On and Off etc.)
almost everything is open now
check the protocol here http://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=6581

Hello,
I am very interested in the schematics and the pieces required to modify a keyfob.
Tane: Could you specify how you achieved this and which parts you used?
That would be much appreciated
Best regard,
Mike

Rene:
Actually, I've been controlling the Powermax from a Linux PC since 2007. But only through the powerlink software (natively or on similar ARM based hardware). I see now that work is well underway to make a powerlink replacement. That's good News. I wanted to do that myself, but I've never had time for it. I eventually wrote a page http://voksenlia.net/powerlink/ describing how far I got in 2007 hoping that someone would take it further. I did some reverse engineering of the powerlink protocol to log sensor activity (there's some code on that page), but all was quite incomplete. This wasn't known 2 years ago
