In mijn enthousiasme heb ik ook alles weer te snel willen doen en zag een paar instellingen toch over het hoofd.

Ik heb vaak een error als ik een commando ingeef. PR=all, TT=0, het maakt niet uit. Als ik deze error krijg, werkt geen enkel commando meer. Herstart van HS is dan de enige oplossing. Lijkt wel iets met de com poort te zijn in Homeseer. Ik heb nog geen enkel idee waar ik dit moet zoeken. Via de OT monitor heb ik dit probleem niet. Tevens wordt het extra virtual device, de listbox (eigenlijk een dropdown menu. De listbox gebruik je nl. in Hstouch) niet aangemaakt.

Tevens had ik net voordat het nieuwe script klaar was al een nieuwe virtual device gemaakt, met de 'dropdown' erin, maar ook een Up/Down/Set/Night control button erin. Zo kun je met Up/Down in Hstouch de 'thermostaat' bedienen zoals je dat gewend bent met een thermostaat aan de muur. Binnen marge van het dropdown menu kun je vrij een temperatuur instellen en dmv Set wordt dan de definitieve temperatuur ingesteld.

De halve graden werken goed, daar ben ik heel blij mee.

Ik heb dezefde issue, alleen een herstart is niet altijd nodig. Vaak doet werkt het niet, soms wel. Ik zie dan ook geen reply terugkomen als het commando aan de gateway gegeven wordt.

Today i got my gateway up and running. And also installed this plugin. I have installed the latest version of the plugin but my "Kamerthermostaat - tijdelijk" is not working as expected ( i cannot select temperatures )

I`m able to poll for flame state but other things as room temperature are not supported

I also think that this command needs to be different

I have a device which measures my outside temperature but it is not called outside. But i just found out that outside might be a reference to setting in the ini file

P.S. I`m using a Vaillant VHR-C with a Honeywell Basicstat Modulation and would love to get some explenation about the best thermostat to intergrate using the OpenThermGateway and HomeSeer

I recognize your (COM port) communication problem. I have this issue myself as well. I'm not sure what's causing this problem but I think in 2 directions:
1: my belkin USB to 4 x RS232 converter (in combination with WHS);
2: com port usage in HS or poor configuration COM port in the script.

about the 2nd: I'm opening and closing the COM port in the script every time the script is executed. Maybe it's better to open the COM port only ones (e.g. in startup script) and close it with the shut-down script. I haven't tried this myself....

I have noticed the usage of Telnet is much more stable. I did use Telnet in the first month (OTGW was connected to COM port on a remote PC) and since a couple of days now with a RS232 to Ethernet converter and I have not seen the problems as seen with COM port on HS Server.

The problem you are heaving are related to these converters ? I`m currenty using an Eminent converter and a vivanco. Both are reporting themselves as a prolific converter

What kind of ethernet -> usb device are u using ?

Ik gebruik een usb-RS232 converter van het merk König en die wordt door Windows herkent als "profilic" o.i.d. Ik heb de script errors nooit gehad met de eerste versie van het OTGW script. Trouwens nu ik een paar dagen verder ben, heb ik ook nog geen script errors gehad, terwijl ik 3 a 4 keer per dag de temperatuur wijzig via het script. Ook de OT-outside commando's geven geen errors. Ik laat PS=1 elke 3 minuten draaien. Er is dus genoeg activiteit op de com poort.
De gateway ligt boven op zolder en via 10m cat 5 kabel icm twee rs232 naar rj45 converters, verbonden met de usb-RS232 converter aan m'n Homeseer pc.

Mijn pollen lijkt zonder problemen te lopen elke 1,30 minuut alleen mijn thermostaat is te simpel dus die is eerst aan de beurt

Ik denk zelf dat 't wel 13 meter cat5 kabels is. Het zou tot 15 meter zeker moeten werken met goed afgeschermde kabel. Mijn cat5 is niet afgeschermd.
In mijn eerste opstelling lag de OTGW naast de pc rechtreeks op de usb-rs232 converter. Nu ik dit schrijf merk ik dat ik in mn vorige post een fout gemaakt heb.
Ik gebruik dus usb-rs232 en twee losse adapters van rs232 naar rj45.. ik zal mn post hierop aanpassen.
