Problem with registration Aeon stick in Merten connect
Problem with registration Aeon stick in Merten connect
Hello,
Is there someone who can help me out with the registration of the AEON stick in Merten Connect?
I use the AEON stick for communication between HomeSeer and my Z-wave devices.
In Merten Connect all devices are registrated but I can't get the AEON stick in.
The Merten software doesn't see/recognize the stick as I push the button 3 times. The blue led on the AEON stick stays blue and is not flashing. I did an "ERASE Interface" in HS.
My goal is to get a Merten 4 gang battery switch into HomeSeer.
I followed the steps as Wim described in the HomeSeer forum:
http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=139256
Thanks in advance,
Peter

Re: Problem with registration Aeon stick in Merten connect
What I remember is that you have to leave the stick in your homeseer pc and have to assign one of the battery merten devices as master. This battery device will store all routings and devices and you have to import that into homeseer by linking it to your Aeob stick.
Re: Problem with registration Aeon stick in Merten connect
Thx abl for your reaction.
Thats exactly what I am doing but unfortunately you won't get the battery switches in HS that way.
This is the reason that Wim described the steps to get this done but therefore you have to read the AEON stick as the last device into Merten Connect.
The AEON stick never gets out of my HS PC. If I am not wrong the blue led on the stick should start flashing as you push the button three times.

Re: Problem with registration Aeon stick in Merten connect
Ok, now I understand your question. I've also failed to get the battery devices in Homeseer but only use these as pshyical copies of buttons, not to activate anything in homeseer.

You might also want to read this discussion on Merten, battery-powered Z-wave, and Homeseer combo:

Basically, it's a hit and miss thing. Keep pounding on the buttons until you get lucky....

Actually this is VERY wrong strategy to work with this units. You must clearly understand that you doing.olof wrote:

The most important thing is that people dont use time to read "User manuals". As result (with Merten sender modules)
many users dont seen difference between "Inclusion/Exclusion" and "Send Info Frame" sequences. This is fundamental
to get this units to work with HomeSeer...
Re: Problem with registration Aeon stick in Merten connect
So that means that you got a way to get battery devices working with Homeseer? If so, could you help us out how this could be achieved?
Re: Problem with registration Aeon stick in Merten connect
hkmod25 I totally agree with you we should know what we're doing but on the other hand I understand Olof fully.
I did a lot of reading before and also I read ”To understand Merten CONNECT battery powered devices” over and over but until now I can't get the battery devices working.
But I will try again because hkmod25 gave me hope (and I think abl to
).
As soon as I have News I will report it here.

So long I have wr. this document ("To understand Merten CONNECT battery powered devices”) in cooperation with Rick from HomeSeer, so yes - Merten working OK with HS2 (can not say anything about HS3 edition).abl wrote:So that means that you got a way to get battery devices working with Homeseer? Hello Peter,
Alle devices including battery devices are working well in HS at my home. You can programmed them in HS as well.
Read http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=139256.
There you can find how to connect battery devices of Merten.

Hello Wim,
Thanks for your reaction, I also read your description in the thread you mentioned but the problem is that I have problems with the registration of the Aeon stick. See the start of this threat.
