Receiving unknown X10 codes

Post by RdP »

Hi,

Since I installed a CTX35 (ACT TI103) I receive lots of X10 codes(see below), which I don't know whre they come from. I had a CM11, and I don't seem to remember I had this much of unknown X10 codes.
I don't use the "M" house code in homeseer or in one of my devices. Where do they come from ??

Hi RdP,

Maybe the CTX35 is more sensitive than the CM11? (According to specs of the A10 versus the X10 protocol, it should be.)

Do you use a netfilter in your fusebox? If not, these codes are probably coming from some of your neighbors and it's time to buy one.

Do you have an RF->X10 receiver (RFXCOM, TM13, etc.)? It could be the case that these commands come in through the air (but then your CM11 should have received them as well, if they are retransmitted as X10 from within your own installation...).

I'm having problems using the "E" house code, as one of my neighbors is continuously transmitting RF on/off commands within this range. I blocked it by configuring the Homeseer ACRF2 plugin to ignore these.

And before installing netfilters, I received a lot of "ghost" A1 on/off commands.

Sounds familiar to me. I had them also before installing netfilters. I have one in my fusebox, filtering the incoming powerline (one-phase) which was enough to solve my problem.

Yes, one (Xanura SFX40) netfilter should be enough for a one-phase installation. For a three-phase installation, you need one for each phase.

I get so much crap from everywhere, on off, status, dim, every 10 minutes or so i receive "something" sometimes its so busy on the line it takes a few seconds before my command reaches my light... :-) but i'am not going to install netfilters since i'am moving anyway at some point.

I was going to install..but there was no space ...
Later I found out that most of the noise was coming in via RF.
After disabling the not used codes in rfxcom there are no problems anymore.
you can aslo make the antenna shorter if RF is te problem.

Hi,

Thank you all, for your answers.

In the Homeseer forum, they told me this is a classic "noise" problem. The strange thing is, that I never saw them when I used thw CM11. It's not RF, because I have the housecodes I use on status only, so they will not send out on the powerline. I'm pretty sure one of my own devices is causing the trouble and not my neighbours. Zucht.... Now I have to find out which one is causing thi......

YEEESSSS,

I nailed down the noisy device(s), It was a energy saving lamp which I replaced and my Plasma TV, which has now a filter.
