Remote control which allows direct usage of the buttons

Does anyone know of a Z-Wave remote control which allows direct usage of the buttons on it?

Let me clarify that.

I have a remote control from AEon Labs which has a couple off buttons. I can program the remote control so that the buttons activate a scene or a specific ZWave device.

But I don't want that. What I would like is to capture the remote button press on my primary controller so my software can react on the button press (and do whatever I like). But as far a I can see, nothing is reported to the primay controller when I press a button.

Does anyone know of a remote control which supports that?

I think that is possible using most Home Automation solutions that have decent ZWave support.

Thanks for the link, emvee. What I gather from the link, you have to perform some tricks and have the right firmware to be able to use the buttons on the minimote directly.
