Hi Firstly i would just like to say i'm new to Linux but i have installed it and got it working a treat , the reason for doing this was because i see loads of people recomending Zoneminder for linux. I downloaded the latest package then looked at the install documntation and nearly fell flat on my face, it seems as though you need Mysql and loads of adon's for it to work. At the moment this is way above my head. So my question is this, is there a more complete install where do click on the package and it just installs or is there better put togther cctv software for linux out there ? I'm i Microsoft engineer wanting to get into linux but i need something i can use out the box cctv wise please help.....

I have no experience with ZoneMinder, but dependencies on other packages is a common Linux problem. I'd suggest to find a Live CD with the package installed and working to evaluate it. And if you like it, you could figure out how it's configured so you can reproduce it on you favorite distro. Good luck!
