Hi,
I just completed my OTGW.
I'm trying to set it up between the ibase and the isense RF.
no luck, is this possible or does the OTGW only work with the wired version?
Thanks

Re: Remeha Isense RF
Your question is a bit strange. As far as I can tell the communication between the iBase and iSense RF is wireless. So you can't insert the OTGW there. You should be able to put the OTGW between the boiler and the iBase.
However, be aware that the RF interface only passes a limited set of parameters from the iBase to the iSense RF, presumably to improve battery life. As a result certain features of the gateway will not work. For example, I've been told that the setpoint override function has no effect when used with an iSense RF.

Re: Remeha Isense RF
Sorry maybe i was not clear.
My setup,
Remeha Tzerra --> boiler contact OTGW, thermostat contact OTGW --> ibase
Only this way the isense thermostat cannot connect to the ibase station anymore.
Thanks.

Re: Remeha Isense RF
Well i have it working partly, its all working in monitor mode but as soon as i switch to gateway mode the isense thermostat looses connection with the base.
Re: Remeha Isense RF
Let me guess: Your iBase doesn't have a power supply connected? In that case it will try to use Smart Power to get the necessary power from the Opentherm interface. If you start the OTGW in monitor mode, the iBase negotiates the Smart Power configuration with the boiler. If you then switch the OTGW to gateway mode, the boiler is in Medium/High power mode. The gateway is in normal (Low) power mode. The iBase is in High/Medium power mode. As a result none of the equipment is able to communicate. In addition the iBase doesn't get enough power, resulting in loss of communication.
Long story short: Don't switch the OTGW mode while attached equipment is in medium- or high power mode.
Did you actually already make sure the OTGW is working? If not, it may be a good idea to temporarily connect a power supply to the iBase. That way you can more easily investigate and fix any issues with the OTGW, without immediately having to deal with Smart Power.
Once the OTGW is working correctly, it will support Smart Power mode. So the iBase should be able to negotiate the Smart Power mode it wants to use with the OTGW as well. If you disconnect the iBase power supply again then (power down and) power up the OTGW with OTmonitor connected, you should be able to see this negotiation.
Please activate logging in OTmonitor before performing the test and then share the log here.

Re: Remeha Isense RF
Thank you for the info i'll hook up power tomorrow.
Strange thing is that the openthermgateway is working and for some reason I can alter the set temperature in monitoring mode via domoticz and it will start heating.
here is a bit off logging.

Re: Remeha Isense RF
You must be imagining things. It's simply impossible for the gateway to change anything in the Opentherm messages when it is in monitoring mode. In that mode the comparators are configured such that they immediately transfer the input signals to their output in hardware. There's nothing the firmware can change about that (unless it reconfigures the comparators).
When you capture the log, make sure it is done in PS=0 mode rather than the PS=1 mode that Domoticz appears to be using. The summaries may be fine when things are up and running, but for debugging it's useless.

Hi,
Here is the log.
Had it working for a little bit but than started logging in monitor mode and than it stopped working again.
your help is appreciated.

Re: Remeha Isense RF
Why did you log in monitor mode? Are you planning to use the OTGW only in monitor mode?
The log you provided doesn't appear to cover the situation I asked for, so I cannot draw any conclusions from it.
