Loosing sensor data in HS

Post by Bastiaan »

I had a suddenloss of my OS data. The most strange thing is that from my W800 pole the wind speeds and direction keep going but all my temp/humid sensor data disappeared from my screens.(also all other sensors)
I have restarted de RFXCOM unit, restarted and reinstalled HS + plugins but n change.
I remember that RFXCOM had its own LOG file but can't find it now.
In the HS log the last lines are;
2-9-2008 17:18:41 RFXCOM L2 (HSEvent) called with:51:Z:10:15
2-9-2008 17:18:42 RFXCOM L2 (HSEvent) called with:52:Z:3:10

2-9-2008 17:19:33 Info Web Server authorized local login successful from: 127.0.0.1 User: default

Clearly showing that RFXCOM has a connection.

I have also run the reciever test program and see the temp/humid data passing, it is just not processed in HS. I moved back fom the 120 beta to the 66 stable version but that didn't change anything.

Please advice.

For logging set Debug Level to 1 on the RFXCOM configuration page.
The log messages will appear in the HS log.

Hi Bert,

Debug is already set @2, I don't think it is your pluging giving trouble but it seems a wider problem. When I set RFXCOM to show the config button on HS pages it doesn't show up. I also noticed that my selection of links/buttons that should show on top, are also ignored and everything is showing. It looks like some other plugin is creating funny effects....

On the other hand, I don't see any OS sensor reading passing in the log....
Plugin version is 9.0.0.1 webpages 9.0.0.0

Found one suspicious error after an instance of RFXCOM script:

Loosing sensor data in HS

Please send the vb script log message to Paul.

You can try disabling OS for the receiver in the RFXCOM config, click Save, enable OS again and click Save.
This will configure the receiver using OS mode.
The OS sensors should then appear in the HS log as they do in RFreceiver.

Bert if I request the version I get this:
Version request to receiver => F020
538E Version Slave=8E

If I remember well it used to give a master value too, correct? May be the problem is hardware?
I get the Visionic commands but no longer any of my OS.

Indeed. You need to have also a response from the master receiver.

You have not used the Toggle baudrate button?

Open the enclosure and move the Master receiver a bit in the connector and press the receiver firmly in the connector.

If it still doesn't work you have to return the receiver for analysis.

Fideling with the printerboards, brought the system back to life. Glad it all works but it makes me wonder if it will happen again and how reliable the set is...

Thanks for your always quick replies :-)

If the device was not handled with care during transport it can happen that a contact problem occurs after a certain period of time. Your action should be enough to solve the contact problem then.
The interface must not be placed in an environment with high humidity levels because this will absolutely result in intermittent contact problems.
