Cannot see Oregon sensors in Homeseer

Post by binkiem »

Last week i bought a RFXCOM (with lan and 2 com ports) I walked through the manual. A com port is created. The receiver program do not see the com port. (the comport can be seen in Windows devicemanager. )But if i test with the ip number, i can see the sensors comming in. I also bought the rfxcom homeseer plugin and config to the defined comport and checked "os" for receiver 1. Within homeseer i see no error, but within the menu "input devices" i cannot see anything comming in. What is wrong? btw i use dotnet 3.5 sp1 framework.

Only 1 application can connect to a COM port and also 1 IP connection could be made with the controller. So if CPR connects correct and Homeseer is not running you should be able to connect the receiver using RFreceiver.

You need to install .NET 1.1 and 2.0 The .NET frameworks are independent versions and not updates! So if 3.5 is installed you still need to install 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0

At the moment i start the rfreceiver application, homeseer is completely down. The stange thing is that i cannot see the defined com port in the pull down menu in rfreceiver. But within Windows Xp device manager i see the com port. I will continue to install other dotnet versions first as you suggested.

i now installed all dot net packages. The following frameworks are now loaded. 1.1 , 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2 ans 3.5 Sp1. I now see the com port 7 (which i defined) in the dropdown menu. But after selecting this, there is no communication. When i select the ip nummer, i see all sensors. Do i have to change the baud setting in Windows device manager?

Within CPR manager i can test COM 7. I can open the port and the status is then connected. Closing works also fine.

don't change anything in the Device Mngr!

Use 4800bd!
Don't use the Toggle Baudrate button in RFreceiver (as indicated).
