I like it, greatly simplifies keeping your Toon up to date. Could you also kickoff the firmware update script this way when new firmware is available? That would mean full update functionality just from the GUI......extremely user friendly

Yes that would be possible. The current update script does ask the user at every step if it is allowed to continu. These questions are hard to pass to the GUI. Doing a blind update is possible but that requires 100% full proof which the update script still isn't yet.Toonz wrote:I like it, greatly simplifies keeping your Toon up to date. Re: Toon firmware resource file (as from 4.16.8)
added here a custom TSC logo to test....Toonz wrote:Hi all,
Resource files for all firmware versions have been updated today.
Changelog:
- gui restart button added in the TSC settings menu (by TheHogNL)
- option added to show custom logo instead of "TOON" (by Toonz)
custom URL examples: "http://webserver.of.your.choice/logo.png" or a local file on Toon : "file:///root/logo.png"
When you design your own logo ensure the height of the picture is about 20 pixels. Width doesn't matter.

Hopefully quby copy/paste this in a newer firmware release so that all users can benefit from this fix. Well done.

Re: Toon firmware resource file (as from 4.16.8)
1)
I keep getting a popup: "Er is een TSC resource file update beschikbaar. Update via TSC menu aub"
There is nothing about an update in the TSC-menu.
I re-downloaded these files (and copied to /qmf/qml/) for my firmware version (I am at 4.19.10).
http://files.domoticaforum.eu/index.php ... ourcefiles
but I keep getting the popup?
Should I update my firmware?
2)
When enabling rotating tiles, my Toon gets almost unresponsively slow after a few hours.

Re: Toon firmware resource file (as from 4.16.8)
Disable the rotating files mod for now. I either need to fix it or permanently remove the mod.
Update the tsc resource file via the tsc menu.
If you really want to do it manually you can get the latest versions from http://qutility.nl/resourcefiles

Re: Toon firmware resource file (as from 4.16.8)
I don't see anything in the menu?

Why is it asking to update the resourcefiles anyway?
I am at 4.19.10 and used the 4.19.10 resource files.
Should I update tot 4.20.7 and use the 4.20.7 resource files?

Yes, better not use the http://files.domoticaforum.eu/index.php ... ourcefiles location anymore. Toonz, maybe delete it?

Re: Toon firmware resource file (as from 4.16.8)
Overwrote the 2 .rcc-files from qutility.nl to /qmf/qml.
Still see the pop-up (after reboot):

Update:
Ok, I now did (somehow) have two extra buttons in the TSC-menu.
After Checking for updates it found nothing, but it looks like the "Update available"-popup is now gone:

Re: Toon firmware resource file (as from 4.16.8)
TSC menu version 1.2.6 is the latest so you are ok now. You got those buttons after downloading and installing the new resources from the new location.
From now on you will get the new resources files using this menu buttons (and the notification you already saw).
You don't need to download and install manually anymore.
Somehow you had a old version TSC menu installed, but already had the TSC helper script (/usr/bin/tsc) running. It's ok now.
