Well that is a strange one. Perhaps I am missing something here.
I'm no Homeseer expert but I would think that it works like this:
1. Device value for AWST-6000 is 9 and device string is "Closed"
2. AWST-6000 changes its status to on and updates the Homeseer device value to 249.
3. Homeseer sees the changed device value and triggers the event.
4. The script runs, reads the device value of 249 from the device code.
5. The script updates the device string to "Open".
I don't see how the event can be triggered if the device value is still 9.
Perhaps Homeseer is triggering the event before it is updating the device value.
I don't see this activity here at all. If I call the script with parameters like your example or without parameters then it updates the device string every time.
Paul..

Paul,
with your script same results...(no parameters)
sometime it will update correct other times not..
when adding 1 second delay before the script runs will update every time.
not sure what the problem can be..1 second is okay for now..
maybe there are some delays in writing the correct value to the database and event trigger is running from the cache.
My Homeseer system is running virtual in Vmware
CPU and memory is access is very high..but disk access in Vmware is always slow.

Looks like it is something that you will have to live with then. Maybe it is related to the Vmware. I don't know how Homeseer deals with this internally. Like you say, maybe Homeseer is just not writing the device value fast enough on your system.
I run Homeseer on one of these: http://linitx.com/viewproduct.php?prodid=11721.
Just last week, I swapped over from an IDE flash disk module to a 64 GB SATA solid state disk http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/f ... ii_2_5-ssd.
The read/write performance of this new SSD seems very good so far. The machine is dedicated to Homeseer with only the RFXCom plug-in installed. Most of the other things I need are self created so I don't have much CPU load on the machine, although there is a lot of disk write activity because I log 000's of records every week.
Perhaps this lower load is why the script runs OK on my machine.

That's a nice system
what is the power consumption of your system at the moment?
I love Vmware because of the flexibility.
There are no physical attached devices to my server...also the CTX35 is connected via network.
Main system is Intel E8400 with 8 GB memory an 2x HD of 500gb
power consumption at the moment 75 watt..I need to reduce this below 40 watt

I have played with Vmware in the past, but never really got round to using it for anything.
With the SSD installed, my system is down to about 15 watts now. There are no USB or RS232 devices plugged in, just power and network. I have also cut down XP to the bare minimum with XPLite.
I am using a self written, small watchdog program that checks that Homeseer is running OK and does a reboot if not.
This Via C7 system is actually quite fast running in this configuration and copes with Homeseer very well.
As I become more reliant on Homeseer I feel that it is important to have the hardware as reliable as it can be.
I use another PC for all media related stuff and also a dedicated CCTV DVR. I am thinking of integrating the CCTV into Homeseer in the near future, probably with an Axis video server.

Sounds good 15 watt
I have the Axis Q241 Video server and some other cameras
Also one Axis 207W
This camera is one of the best in that price range.
I miss only one thing on the Axis 207W: IR leds for night view.
I the next weeks I will tray to ed IR leds to the Axis..hoop this will work. someone else already did this.

I must go to bed soon. Tomorrow (I know it's Sunday) I have a lot of work to do.
I have only 3 external cameras and no internal at the moment. 2 of these are PTZ versions mounted in domes on opposite corners of the house. They are very good, 10X optical zoom and very fast pan/tilt. The other is a 25mm lens with 50 meter IR that is focused on the entrance to my driveway. This can read car number plates when they enter the driveway.
The Axis server looks good. The images on Bwired look nice but I have yet to decide if this is the best solution.
Anyway, I must say goodnight now.

firs the learn jumper, it's not clear to me what the normal position is.
learn or Del?
second the lightness setting.
the M is for < 25 lux, and the L is for < 15 lux,
i want the the device the work during day and night time
can anyone tell me if this device can work during day time??
