when I open the page in a browser, I get to see some sort of zigbee (I think?) page, with the option to connect to other devices.

This most certainly not Toon we're looking at.
I think Toon got a different IP adres and this is another device in your network.

My problem had nothing to do with an update from the app (Which is not updated recently I think) but with an update of de TOONstore.
I assume you have a rooted Toon, and therefore have ssh access to the Toon.

So just connect to the Toon with for example with Putty, and issue the command: update-rooted.sh -f
