Dear Schelte,
I just upgraded my device with 4.2.8 firmware with this file: http://otgw.tclcode.com/download/gateway.hex via OTMonitor Web Interface (http://XX.XX.XX.XX:8081/upgrade.html
The upgrade was performed without any problem, so I stopped otmonitor.service, downloaded new version of otmonitor to my raspberry pi, added +x attribute and started service.
Unfortunately since upgrade to 4.2.8 my OTGW is not working = no messages in otmonitor except configuration changes made via webconfig.
I tried to switch on/off my boiler and otgw, but no success.
Did I missed something during update?
Is 4.2.5 version available for downgrade?

Strange. I have been using 4.2.8 myself for several days without any issue.

Downgrade to 4.2.5 firmware helped, then I tried 4.2.6 a 4.2.7 and both worked.
Unfortunately 4.2.8 not working.
I don't know if there is any HW limitation so for now I just switched back to last working firmware and will wait if anybody report same behaviour.

I had exactly the same issue. I upgraded from 4.2.5 to 4.2.8 and the gateway only reported it's version and replied to commands. There was no communication between the boiler and the thermostat. After downgrading to 4.2.7 all worked fine again. After downgrading to 4.2.7, I upgrade to 4.2.8 once more, but again the same behaviour.
If it helps, I have a Remeha Avanta boiler and a Remeha iSense thermostat.

I believe I found the cause of the problems you reported. I have published firmware version 4.2.8.1 that should work much better.
In your log I noticed that you enabled the option to "Automatically update the gateway clock". So I tried that too to see if that had anything to do with problem. It didn't, but I found that it can really mess up the firmware upgrade. So I also published a version 4.4.1 of OTmonitor that fixes that. I suggest to pick one of these options when you try to update again:

First of all: Thanks for testing and reporting the issues.
The slider not working was a bug in OTmonitor. A fix is now available in the github repository.
I broke the voltage reference setting in 4.2.8.1. The requested level was actually set, but the administration was not correctly updated. To fix that, I just released firmware 4.2.8.2.
But at least the Max CH setpoint is working correctly when I test it. Your test procedure is a bit strange, though. Why do you power-cycle the gateway? That may be the reason it doesn't work for you.
The Max CH setpoint is a parameter in the boiler. The OTGW first needs to check the level of support the boiler provides for this parameter. It does that by requesting MsgID 6. If the boiler supports changing the parameter (ID6:LB1), the OTGW will request the bounds via MsgID 49. Until the OTGW obtains the necessary information from the boiler, it will ignore any SH command.
After a reset, the OTGW doesn't have any slots where it can insert its own messages (unless you have configured them with the UI command). It will collect slots by looking for Unknown-DataID responses from the boiler. Once a specific ID has produced an Unknown-DataID response three times in a row, the OTGW will start replacing requests for that DataID with its own messages. As you may understand, it can take a while before the OTGW can find slots for sending MsgID 6 and 49.
Once the OTGW knows that the boiler supports changing the Max CH setpoint, then following an SH command, the OTGW has to wait for a slot it can use to send a Write-Data request for MsgID 57. If you power-cycle the OTGW before that time, then the parameter will not have been changed.

This looks suspiciously like what would happen with firmware 4.2.8.1. Are you sure you have loaded 4.2.8.2? Check with PR=A. If so, please also check PR=B. It should report PR: B=12:51 07-01-2021
