Plugwise Homeseer Plugin

Post by Chiel »

I love this plugin, expands the possibilities of Plugwise and Homeseer a lot.

But i think i'm doing something wrong, it works very good, events, time schedules and switching direct, but when i reboot my HS server the devices dont work anymore.
After a while HS add all plugwise modules again (double) with different device numbers, they work perfect again but not on my events....
If i reboot again the same thing happens, there are now 25 devices in my list while i only have 5!
If i delete all devices HS comes up with 5 new ones but then all my events are empty, adding the actions make it all work again but i can't reboot because it happens all again..

Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
I run HS 2.3.0.19 (eval for now)

Looks like you do not have installed the database (the .mdb file) correctly or it cannot be opened by the plugin. Copy the database file to the correct location (e.g. C:/Program Files/Homeseer 2/data/Plugwise), disable the plugin, select all Plugwise devices in the status screen and delete these, enable the plugin again.

Wow, you're fast.

Gonna try right away, thanx...

edit; You were right!! i didn't made the data folder, just dropped it in the main folder (which in my case is "HomeSeer HS2")

Thanks a lot Rene, for the plugin and for the superfast support...[:)]

Plugwise Homeseer Plugin

Post by RdP »

Rene,

Are you implementing a device code for total usage ?? I asked for this a while ago ?? I am creating an energy HStouch screen and since you're close to releasing a new version I like to know if this is in it or else I will create some script which will do this (but it's more nice to have it in the plug-in)

Thanks,

<br />Rene,
The auto created devices are missing some options in HSTouch.
In HSTouch there is no option for toggle on/off
I think this has to do with the device type

Plugwise Homeseer Plugin

@Rdp: I do not think I can do anything from within the plugin to offer this feature. It has to be offered from within HSTouch. I issued a question on the Homeseer forum but got only one reaction that did not help much. I do not use HS Touch myself so I am unable to test it (if someone can provide me the software and license, i will have a look at it).

Plugwise Homeseer Plugin

Post by Rene »

A new version of the Plugwise plugin is available for download. Please let me know when you experience any bugs or serious shortcomings so I can release the first stable version as soon as possible.

This version includes some charts for total usage and the actual usage. These charts are updated automatically (10s interval for the actual usage and 5m for the total usage). I will add more charts in the near future. Because the charting functionality is not part of the plugin but implemented using asp.net scripts, it can be upgraded independent of the plugin.

Changelog for beta 0.3:

Fixes:
- Multiple devices can now be turned on or off from within one action.
- Fixed writing statistics to the database
- When Homeseer is started any state changes that occurred while Homeseer was not running are now correctly determined
- The control buttons will no longer be hidden when the manual state changes of a device are disabled. I could not get this feature stable, sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not.

New features:
- User and password for the Plugwise Source web server can now be configured
- Besides on and off the status of a device can now be offline or unknown according to the status of the device in the Plugwise Source.
- When homeseer is started the status of all devices is set to unknown. This will be updated after the first poll of the Plugwise Source web server.
- When a device is locked using the Plugwise Source directly, this is reflected in Homeseer. When a device is locked in the Plugwise Source, the lock status can no longer be configured using Homeseer.
- When the status of a device is offline or locked, the device can no longer be switched to on or off.
- New configuration options are available to use the location (room) and/or device type as specified in the Plugwise Source.
- Authentication for the Plugwise Webserver is now supported and can be configured using the plugin configuration screen.
- Available actions for Plugwise devices in events are limited to on and off.

Installation instructions:

Fresh install:
1. Download plugin from http://house.klootwijk.org/downloads/hs ... se-0.3.zip
2. Copy the following files to their target location
All files in the /html directory to <homeseer dir>/html
/data/Plugwise/plugwise.mdb to <homeseer dir>/data/Plugwise
/hspi_Plugwise.dll to <homeseer dir>
All files in the /Plugwise directory to <plugwise dir>/www (NOTE: This is the directory the Plugwise Source software is installed in)
3. Restart Homeseer
4. Enable the Plugwise plugin from the setup/interfaces screen
5. Configure the plugwise plugin

Upgrade from previous beta:
1. Stop Plugwise plugin in Homeseer
2. Select all plugwise devices in the status screen and delete them
3. Go to fresh install

How to enable the charts:
1. Download visifire components from http://www.visifire.com
2. Copy the following files to the <homeseer dir>\html\Plugwise directory:
- Visifire2.js
- SL.Visifire.Charts.xap
3. Make sure Microsoft silverlight is installed on the computer where you want to view the charts

Plugwise Homeseer Plugin

Post by RdP »

Rene,

Installed the plug-in. Seems to working for the most part. The totals are great(thank you) Couple of problems though.

1. The path you mentioned for the html directory in your zip file is not right. I had to be copied to the "html" dir and not the "html/Plugwise" dir
2. I liked the other icons beter(i know I can exchange them myself)
3. I get the following error when I try to open any of the chart pages:

Serverfout in toepassing /.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runtime-fout

<!-- Web.Config-configuratiebestand -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

<!-- Web.Config-configuratiebestand -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

I will keep on testing....

Plugwise Homeseer Plugin

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<configuration>

<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>

<pages>
<namespaces>
<clear />
<add namespace="System.Data" />
<add namespace="System.Data.OleDb" />
<add namespace="System.IO" />
<add namespace="System.Web" />
</namespaces>
</pages>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Rene.
